Rochester Named in Car Accident Survey

In a new survey conducted regarding the safety of U.S. Cities, Rochester ranked 144 out of 200 American cities for frequency of car crashes.

The survey was conducted by Allstate Insurance Company to identify the safest drivers in the country.

The study showed that the average Rochester driver will experience one car accident every eight years.? An Allstate spokesperson stated that the survey should not discourage Rochester drivers, rather it should challenge drivers to drive safer by implementing positive changes in driving habits. Avoiding such things as following too closely, drinking and driving, and speeding can make a difference in causing car accidents.

Distracted driving is a common cause of car accidents.? It is reported that drivers do distracting things while driving including putting on makeup, shaving, adjusting radio controls or programming the GPS, or eating while driving.? Of course, texting while driving is against Minnesota law.

If you are injured in a car accident, you may be able to hold the other driver accountable? for the losses caused by the negligence of the other driver.? Recoverable losses may include past medical expenses, past wage loss, past pain and suffering, and future losses.
